Jewish monument
The synagogue was built in 1909 by the architect Kafka. The interior was destroyed by Nazis. In the past it had been used as an inter-confessional Christian church for soldiers of the US army, and also as a storage place.

Early Baroque frontispiece facing in the other direction, away from the city. The building was built for the needs of the Jesuit Order, to which it served as a seminary. After the Jesuit Order ceased to exist, various types of German schools operated here and even Czech schools briefly after 1945. From 1946 the building was used for archive and museum purposes. From 1970-1979 the building underwent demanding reconstruction.

Seidel Photo Studio Museum

The building served as a family house with a photo studio until 1949. Tasteful reconstruction of the house, while preserving the furnishings and equipment of the photo studio, but mainly the extensive collection of photograph works by Josef and František Seidl, provided a reason for the establishment of the museum, which tells the story of the beginnings of photography, the touching story of this family and it reveals paintings from the chronicles of Šumava from the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. In all its complexity and authenticity, it is truly one-of-a-kind in the world.

The Church of St. Vitus is a chambered three-ailed church with an elongated presbytery closed from five sides, rectangular two-storied sacristies along both sides, with the Chapels of the Resurrection and of St. John of Nepomuk, and with a narthes on the northern side. There is a steeple built in the western facade of the church, the last story of which is pseudo-gothic and dates back to 1893-4. The church serves to religious rituals and to classical music concerts occasionally.

Krumlov Mill

The mill was already mentioned in the 14th century by Petr I of Rožmberk. Late Renaissance reconstruction work took place at the beginning of the 17th century. According to legend, a water elf „Little Pearl Man“ protected the mill, whose job it was to look after pearl oysters and pearls.

The castle was built in the first half of 13th century and belonged to the south Bohemian noble House Rožmberk. The castle has typical renaissance features although later it had been adapted in baroque style. The castle consists of older Lower Castle with tall cylindrical tower and newer Upper Castle. Three-level bridge connects the castle with a castle theatre with original decorations and technique. The summer theatre is famous for the revolving platform.

Rotating amphitheatre

The first improvised rotating theatre was turned in 1958, in order for sixty audience members to see Jirasek’s production of Lucerna. Today’s rotating theatre is driven by electric motors and can hold more than 650 audience members.

Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

The complex of ecclesiastic buildings ranks among the most important monument of the late South Bohemian Gothic. The complex is dominated by the Pilgrimage Church of the Virgin Mary from the 14th century with late Gothic chambered two aisles vaulted with tracery starred vault. Through the sacristy, the church is connected to the early Gothic Chapel of the Virgin Mary Expiry from the late 13th century. Another building within the complex is a Baroque presbytery from 1661, with the built-in Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk from 1699 and a cemetery chapel with a charnel-house from 1752.
